This interview was originally printed in Good and Plenty N05. I had never herd of Billingsgate before reading this interview, they only released two EP’s and the second one happened to be one of the first Victory records releases. Both have a hardcore sound of that era, with some youth crew values and sounds too, the second release “Reach Out” has a bit more of a metallic edge almost in a similar vein of Warzone.

Before all of this happened and sent the world into lockdown and even during the current situation people have still managed to release so killer music I decided to compile a little list of some good stuff with a vague little description, I hope you enjoy it.
Last Straw – Youngblood’s newest members bringing some straight up youth crew hardcore punk in a familiar CT styling, I am biased because I love youth crew but definitely a favourite for me.

Fyzical – Another new one to the BBB Records Roster. Arguably one of the coolest names for a straight edge band. A great mixture of stuff going on in this creating to hard hitting straight edge in your face!

Grand Scheme – Advanced Perspective are such a great label and they have delivered again, rough and heavy stomping out of Washington DC a great example of modern hardcore.

C4 – A new addition to the BBB Records roster coming out of Boston with roots in older style hardcore with added good times early 2000’s flavours.

The Boss – You want NYHC with Boston flavour, done! Florida bringing the heat with some hatred.
Listen: https://thebossflhc.bandcamp.com/album/demo-2020
The Annihilated – Rough and ready, hard UK82 vibes while worshiping all the other good fast as fuck hard as fuck hardcore punk from the past generations.
Listen: https://theannihilated.bandcamp.com/
NSA – Sunny Florida bringing some fast angry punk that sounds raw and noisy as if it was recorded in a basement and thats what makes its great!
Listen: https://invisibleaudio.bandcamp.com/album/nsa-is-watching
Third Degree – Fast punchy hardcore with some metallic NYHC elements and angry fuck you punk attitude, not the usual CT style but still a great demo.

Sanctuary of Praise – Hailing from the UK, dreamy shoegaze wrapped in some noisy post punk goodness, a nice break from hardcore, a cool name too!

If you think there are some bands I have missed or that should be on here, drop me a line and I can always make a part two, I always enjoy finding new music.
